Coordination

Alexandre Lanctôt-Laurin
Coordinator

Alexandre Lanctôt-Laurin
Coordinator
Since he was young, Alexandre has always shown his interest in new technologies and finance. He also believes that having an engineering background and a good knowledge of finance are two complementary elements that can serve as a real catalyst for companies.
A 4th year student in industrial engineering, Alexandre is the Coordinator of the 2020-2021 cohort, after being VP Logistics of the 2019-2020 cohort and member of La Relève in 2018-2019. As Coordinator, Alexandre wishes to lead and support a multidisciplinary team capable of accomplishing several activities within the framework of the mission, contributing to the personal development of members, building a network in the finance and technology industry, developing strong relationships with colleagues and learn more about the annual theme, Data and Cybersecurity.
In the summer of 2020, Alexandre completed an internship in IT Enterprise Architecture at the National Bank of Canada, where he was able to understand the complex ecosystem and the interactions between the different functions, capabilities and applications of the bank. Helping to deploy a new architectural tool, he was able to work on his sense of initiative, organization and communication.
Alexandre played high level hockey, where he was able, among other things, to develop his work ethic, his sense of responsibility and his organization. At Polytechnique, he passed on his passion for sport elsewhere by getting involved in several committees, including CCGP, CEGI and Poly-L.
It is therefore with this background that Alexandre is ready to coordinate the PolyFinances 2020-2021 cohort towards the achievement of his mission.

Hermann Noubissie Noussa
Business Development

Hermann Noubissie Noussa
Business Development
A fourth-year undergraduate student in industrial engineering, Hermann aspires to establish himself in the financial world, particularly in private placements in infrastructure. Engineering and Finance are two essential viatics for continuing your financial journey: an environment on the lookout for significant data, with an acute concern for cause / effect relationships, at the dawn of advanced technologies. PolyFinances then acts in the lobby with applied and sustained training in finance.
Building on his ambition, Hermann graduated from preparatory classes for the Maths-Physics High Schools in France before joining the Polytechnic course. He follows an entrepreneurial path, which earned him second place in the HEC 2018 case competitions confronting Quebec entrepreneurial student committees. He also completed an internship at Bombardier Aerospace in strategy and operations as a business analyst. Finally, he completed a parallel internship in inventory planning analysis at Videotron and a research internship with CIRANO (Interuniversity Research Center in Organizational Analysis) and the Ministry of Finance on the impact of interest rates on the profitability of banks in Canada.
At PolyFinances, he is in his second year. He was first a member of the finance department and associate analyst in the energy sector. He was mainly interested in the dynamics that drive production and distribution activities with respect to different energy sources, particularly renewable energies. This year, on the strength of his experience in the committee, he acts as business development manager highlighting his skills in finding mandates, negotiating contracts and monitoring mandates.

Renaud Gironne
Treasurer

Renaud Gironne
Treasurer
Renaud completed two and a half years in industrial engineering at Polytechnique. His time in the 2019-2020 edition of the committee and his personal experiences led him to orient the rest of his studies towards computer engineering. On the financial side, for some time now, current events and the political climate around the world have prompted him to follow the impact of headlines on the world of finance. He is impatient to be able to develop tools that will allow him to push his analyzes further and integrate them into his future research.
In terms of his experiences, Renaud has taken advantage of great opportunities to advance in his field. So, for over two years and just before entering his bachelor's degree program, he worked as a quality technician at Uniboard, a laminate flooring company. It was there that he developed his interest in the manufacturing world and decided to deepen his knowledge there. After a multitude of courses in the program, Renaud added two internships in industry, both at Pélican International, a kayak producer. These internships and experiences allowed Renaud to discover a passion for automation, innovation and digital transformation.
By joining the 2020-2021 cohort of Polyfinances, Renaud hopes to be able to develop a way of analyzing market movements and benefit from a group in which he can develop his interest in everything related to finance. Then, as treasurer, he greatly wishes to be able to facilitate the work of the other members and allow the committee to carry out its projects. Finally, Renaud would like his involvement in the committee to benefit the next cohorts!

Ever since High School, Ismail has always been curious to discover new fields. Having had the opportunity to take up the position of president of the general assembly of his high school’s model united nations conference during his senior year, he went on to pursue this passion during his undergraduate studies. There, he not only contributed to the organization of various conferences but also took up several positions as a board member and participated in numerous international conferences.
Today however marks a new beginning for Ismail as he seeks to further his knowledge of a field he has always been interested in, finance. Initially planning to pursue a degree in this field, circumstances lead him to change paths to a computer science degree. This however did not brake Ismail from studying the subject as he went on to minor in business administration with a concentration in corporate finance and quantitative methods. With some knowledge in his pocket and a lot of curiosity, he went on to join the PolyFinances club in order to learn from and contribute to the club’s numerous projects.
His primary objective as a second year master’s student in applied mathematics is to apply the experience he gathers form his research project and that which he already has from his computer science degree to the club’s projects, with a primary focus on studying the applications of artificial intelligence in finance.

Richard is starting his last year in his bachelor’s degree of industrial engineering and joins the 2020-2021 cohort of Polyfinances in the Financement team. It is with little time that he realized the importance of this field, partly through his school path of industrial engineering. Finance quickly became one of his fields of interests and he is following more and more the news on this subject. During his internships at Lowe’s and Bombardier, Richard had many occasions to see that most of engineering projects are worked in parallel with the department of finance.
By joining this club, Richard plans on using the new notions he will learn concerning the finance world and apply them in business. He is aware that this experience can be a real game changer and that it will allow him to have a more meaningful impact within a company by joining his knowledge in the fields of engineering and finance. In addition, Polyfinances offers very rare opportunities that allows to create a contact network with experts.
Having done an exchange in Switzerland in the Management, Technology and Entrepreneurship section, he took classes on data science and econometrics which will be useful for the team. Richard had the chance to see a different way of doing things which broadened his horizons regarding many aspects.
Being someone who wants to develop himself and stand out with his versatility, Richard hopes that he will continue to grow as a future professional within the Polyfinances team and that he will have a positive impact on the people encountered.
