Founded in 2011, PolyFinances is an innovative specialization program at Polytechnique Montréal that brings together engineers from various engineering disciplines to focus on finance and technology. With about 20 members, PolyFinances aims to understand and manage the financial aspects of technology projects. Members also study methods for valuing companies based on the principles of industrial economics and manage a stock portfolio worth over $100,000. This work not only allows members to gain practical skills in finance but also strengthens the school’s reputation as a center of excellence in engineering and finance.
PolyFinances members, with backgrounds in industrial, mechanical, civil, computer, mining and biomedical engineering, all share an interest in finance. This diversity of engineering skills enables them to analyze financial challenges in depth and come up with innovative, effective solutions.
